Afferme Software

The Talent Centre produces a range of software aimed at the examinations and assessment market under its Afferme EMS brand.

This software, designed specifically for the examinations market, is a suite which aids awarding bodies in every aspect of their business. The system is extremely flexible and has been designed to enable an awarding body to configure it in ways that match their own requirements. It has also been designed with a strong regard to the regulatory framework within the UK. All reports currently required of awarding bodies by QCA and the DfES can be quickly and easily generated. The relevant proposals of the MIAP group and also the proposed FFA have all been considered so as to ensure that the software is as future proof and flexible as possible. The suite consists of:

• Afferme EMS Central: Designed to operate in an awarding body's offices, this software provides facilities for managing examinations from candidate entries through to certification. It also provides facilities for handling appeals, managing examiners, producing reports, providing sophisticated Business Information, and much, much more.
• Afferme EMS CentrePoint: Designed to be used in centres (e.g. schools, colleges etc...), this software makes online entry and management of candidates, and where appropriate candidate results, easy. Click here to find out more.
• Afferme EMS PartnerPoint: Where an awarding body is delivering awards with or for partners, this software is invaluable. It allows the partner organisation to view the progress of candidates through the award and also to access a range of sophisticated Business Information tools.
• Afferme EMS TestDesigner: This software is designed to enable the creation and management of tests and question banks. Multiple Choice Questions, Multiple Response Questions, essay based questions and other forms of questions can all be easily handled and integrated through this software. Output to print, xml, or the managed EMS QuestionBank is possible.
• Afferme EMS Marker: Once an examination or test has been completed then it is important that the right marks reach the awarding body as quickly and securely as possible. With Afferme EMS Marker assessors can easily enter marks awarded in practical examinations complete with any comments, or may view and mark written or other digitally deliverable work such as MS Word documents, MS Powerpoint shows, and PDF's.
• Afferme EMS Exam: Where an awarding body has tests and questions setup in the managed EMS QuestionBank, EMS e-Xam may be used to securely and efficiently test your candidates.
• Afferme EMS WebCentre: This provides a web based centre for learners. It allows learners to learn and grow within an environment that promotes pedagogically sound practice.

Support for the Afferme EMS suite is provided in many forms including:

All of the Afferme EMS suite is designed using the latest version of Microsoft's .NET platform and databasing is handled using Microsoft's SQL Server flagship database product.
